Alex L. Human Impact Humans can impact the animal's environment that they live in. Positive Human Impact Humans know that the rough grasslands, or grasslands that aren't disturbed, are grasslands that are areas where animals can live without humans changing anything. The people know this so they try to keep it as natural as it was when they found it. The KSCP (Kentish Stour Countryside Project) is an organisation that is a form of positive human inpact. They're actively involved in managing, restoring and raising awareness of the importance of grasslands and their wildlife. That is positive human impact. Negative Human Impact Humans set quickly spreading fires to make space for their crops. This destroys habitats and soil in the grasslands. Humans hunt animals in the grasslands. This includes bison for their meat, lions for their fur, and elephants for their tusks. This makes the animals more endangered. That is negative human impact. Problems in the Grasslands that Humans need to Know
Global warming is affecting the grasslands. The night time temperatures are starting to rise. This is causing the grasses to grow later than they should. Humans need to be aware of this problem or else grazing animals like gazelles won't have enough food which will mean secondary and primary carnivores will be suffering as well. Basically, if the temperature is high, its drying out the grasslands causing plants not to grow as early as it should.
Another problem in the grasslands, is erosion. The fertile soil is being washed away, causing plants not to grow there. This is also a serious problem because if the fertile soil is being washed away, then the plants can't grow there which means animals that are herbivores are getting more and more limited food. If the herbivores can't survive, then the primary carnivores won't be able to survive, and then so on and so forth. Possible Solutions
For the problem of global warming in the grassland there are solutions. To stop global warming humans can be more cautious if their actions. People can make sure that they turn lights off when they leave a room, this will stop air pollution from getting into our world. Also, we could be more conscious of the gas that we use to power our cars. we could start using more E85 fuel. This s 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. To prevent soil erosion in the grassland is caused from the temperatures being high, this is an effect of global warming, so the solution of this problem will be the same as the solution of the first problem. Obviously, people are going to have to be more aware of the effects their actions are having on the environment.
